This short ten-week class has tested me more than I’d like to admit. Research was once a thing I believed to be easy but I know now that the effort and energy and timing required to pull it off is incredible. I will forever be humbled by it. I learned that if I have a free day and there is still an assignment left, then I do not have a day off. I learned that I must control my actions to make sure that all of my assignments get done and I don’t stress out and turn in low quality assignments. The most transformative moment was the Literature Review and the Twitter SMC. The Literature Review because there was a lot of research out there and it was incredibly difficult to find a point where I felt I was ready to begin writing and I got lost in the article for a point. The twitter SMC looked as if it wasn’t a large task but it was a monster. The amount of time to think of tweets was more difficult than other because I am often a perfectionist. Two of my most problem areas have to do with that. Perfection. I am probably the laziest perfectionist alive. I want to put out the best work I can but I often have issues sitting down to actually put in the time to do that. The extended amount of time away from my work makes me apathetic and it’s even harder to return to a large assignment. In the future, I will start to turn in my assignments early to prevent stressful deadline sprints. I will also try to accept my work even though it often has many flaws. Perfection is one of the most dangerous ideas that affects my ability to work.
