Week 6 Blog

I’ve learned a lot about research these first five weeks and much of it had all compounded on one another to help me finally finish the first draft. The most beneficial assignments in my opinion were the “Read & Annotate” assignments. They helped me to break down the articles and highlight important stuff without spending all my energy and time close reading for information. Another was the twitter updates because they really made me look harder into the social media scene and I really enjoyed the time spent there. It helped me to find one of my big 3 articles as well as just giving me more motivation to write the essay. The blog responses also helped a little as I was able to relate to the struggles of my classmates making me feel better about my struggles

I am not too confident that my essay meets the objectives too well. I know that I need to use more sources in each paragraph and I would need to use more visuals. I think I did meet the objective of thesis and controlling idea. I do believe that my essay is clear in its direction and setting up foundation for advocacy. I know I need more work on integrating more sources and especially sources about human psychology, particularly that of growing children and comparing human psychology to that of animals.

Ethologist for the Ethical Treatment of Animals seems like a very good place to start for the SMC. It applies to many species and I can use it to complement one of my big 3 articles
