My Time On Twitter

This was a very unique experience. I've seen social media used as a platform for social action and for many people to band together for one cause but I've never used it for that reason myself. It was very interesting to see all the groups and people interacting around certain issues with animals. One thing that stuck out to me is an article that made me aware of something called "puppy mills". It's basically a place that dogs are bred on a large scale and are often kept in very inhumane ways. Also one specific page I follow belongs to Marc Bekoff. Something that caught my eye is that Denver parks rounded up geese and slaughtered them all! I'm baffled at how something like that is just allowed to happen. At first, I was very unsure with using the same platform that I get my entertainment from as a stage to showcase many serious issues with animals and other things. After seeing a lot of others tweeting, I am now more comfortable doing so. I'm also glad that there is some humor and cute content sprinkled in there!
